Resumo

ABSTRACT ? The Suzigan stream erosive process, located in Santa Barbara d?Oeste and Americana municipalities border, had an approximate length of 600 m, width varying between 20 m and 150 m, height about 5 m and 21 m, with borders slope of about 80 degrees. It was developed on the NW/SE direction of the urban area, reached the water table level, and caused great loss of productive areas in its surroundings, finally causing severe silting on Piracicaba river. This paper presents the results of geological-geotechnical studies carried out by IPT and the engineering solutions that were made to stabilize the erosive process.
